3 of 4 El Paso City Council races appear headed for a runoff

With early votes released three of the four El Paso City Council district races appear headed for a runoff.

A candidate needs 50 percent of the vote plus one vote to avoid a runoff. The top two candidates in a race would be in a runoff if one is necessary.

EL PASO CITY REP 2

Jim Tolbert had 919 votes or 18 percent of the vote. Larry Romero had 904 votes or 18 percent of the vote.

EL PASO CITY REP 3

Incumbent Emma Acosta is running unopposed.

EL PASO CITY REP 4

Incumbent Carl Robinson leads with 2,364 votes or 42 percent of the vote with the next closest challenger Sam Morgan had 1,612 or 29 percent.

EL PASO CITY REP 7

Tania Chozet is leading with 1,858 votes or 30 percent with the next closest candidates Lily Limon having 1,311 votes or 21 percent.
