Carl Robinson remains Northeast El Paso City Rep. after recount

Northeast City Rep. Carl Robinson is still that area’s City Council representative after Friday’s recount of the June 15 runoff election.

His opponent, Sam Morgan, paid for the recount. Robinson gained a few more votes in the recount than the 22 he won by on June 15.

The recount started at 9 a.m. Friday and ended after 4 p.m.

City Municipal Clerk Richarda Momsen said Morgan filed the petition on June 17 and paid a deposit of $2,100 dollars for the recount. It’s $100 per precinct (20 precincts in District 4) and another $100 for the early votes.

Robinson was the incumbent in the race.
