Gunfire reported outside East El Paso bar

A man is in police custody after reports of gunfire outside an East El Paso bar early Monday morning.

El Paso police say the shots were heard just after midnight, in the parking lot of the Three Legged Monkey, in the Hawkins Plaza Shopping Center at Montana and Hawkins.

With Sunday Night one of the busiest nights, police scanners searched everyone as they left the bar.

Just before 2 a.m. police surrounded a silver and black Lexus in the parking lot, where they found a man believed to be connected with the shots fired. According to police, the shots came from Hawkins, and were aimed in the air. Police have not said if the man in custody is the shooter.

No one was injured by the shots.
