Las Cruces police investigating possible murder-suicide

Las Cruces police are investigating a murder-suicide near the intersection of Lees and Bellamah drives.

Police say they got a call about a gunshot victim around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

A man and a woman were both taken to a local hospital. Both were pronounced dead.

Neighbors said they heard gunshots and ran outside.

“We looked over there, and there’s a guy on the floor. Cops were just pulling up left and right. Once ambulances got here they pulled out another person from the drivers seat, and it was a girl. They were trying to give her CPR,” said Isaiah McIntyre, who lives down the street.

Police believe the man and women were a couple.

Neighbors said the woman looked like she had been shot in the face. Police would not confirm that.

Neighbors told ABC-7 they were terrified by what they saw.

“It looked like an old lady with grey hair. Nothing but blood all over her shirt. When they had her on the stretcher, her arm was just hanging off. While they were moving the stretcher they were just giving her CPR nonstop. The other guy was on the sidewalk, not moving, getting CPR too,” said Glenn Lively.

Police have not released many details about the couple or what led up to the shooting.
