Local politicians react to death of El Paso County Commissioner Dan Haggerty
El Paso County Commissioner Dan Haggerty died Friday night after battling bladder cancer since Nov. 2011.
Several El Paso politicians have taken to social media to posted their reactions to the Haggerty’s death. Read them below.
County Judge Veronica Escobar – Dan was a colleague and dear friend. I’ll miss him and the response I’d get every time I told him I loved him: “I love you more, babe.” Every loss we experience should strengthen our resolve to live our lives to the fullest extent possible and to love more deeply every day.
County Commissioner Vincent Perez – I’m heartbroken by the news that our friend and colleague, Commissioner Dan Haggerty, lost his battle to cancer this evening. He served on Commissioners Court for 18 years and there was never a dull moment on the Court with his colorful sense of humor. I will miss him dearly. My deepest condolences to the Haggerty family and his faithful staff.
