Update: Motorcyclist killed at East El Paso intersection overnight identified

El Paso Police have released the name of the motorcyclist killed in a late night crash on June 5.

He has been identified as 22-year-old Jose Andrade of El Paso.

At about about 11:21 p.m., police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash near at the intersection of 1700 Zaragoza and 1700 Saul Kleinfeld.

Police said the Andrade was travelling south on Zaragoza when he collided with a BMW 325I that was northbound on Zaragoza and making a left turn onto Saul Kleinfeld. Andrade was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene.

The driver of the BMW, identified as 20-year-old Alexander Marquez, was not injured and remained at the scene.

Police said they do believe that speed on behalf of Andrade is a factor in this crash. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time.

Investigators are asking any potential witnesses to come forward and contact the Special Traffic Investigations Office at 915-564-7140.
