300 jobs to El Paso area

A new Walmart location in Horizon City is said to bring at least 300 job opportunities to the borderland.

Walmart officials say the grand opening for this fall is on track. The company is looking to hire part-time and full-time positions.

The new store will be located at Darrington Road and Horizon Blvd., a prime location for the growing area.

Officials say newly-hired employees will begin working as early as September for the opening of the store.

Veterans are also encouraged to apply.

The company launched an initiative earlier this year to veterans when it comes to jobs through Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment.

Walmart offers jobs to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged in the last 12 months.

The Walmart Foundation has committed $20 million through 2015 to helping veterans and their families transition from the military into the civilian workforce.
