Lane closures set for Montana intersection reconstruction

Beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, Montana will be down to two lanes in each direction between Limerick Road and Wedgewood Drive as part of an intersection project.

The lane closures are necessary so construction crews can replace the asphalt intersection of Montana and Lorne Road with concrete. The more durable concrete is better suited to accommodate frequent traffic from Sun Metro buses which will be based at the new transit operations facility currently under construction north of the intersection.

Work includes a complete reconstruction of the intersection, installation of a traffic light, and new sidewalks. Traffic will be down to two-lanes in each direction for the duration of the project which is expected to last through December 2013.

Passengers of Sun Metro Routes 58 and 75 could see minor delays due to traffic in the construction zone, especially during peak hours. Sun Metro will also temporarily deactivate the bus stop at Montana and Lorne which is used only by Route 58. Drivers will make courtesy stops as needed.
