Las Cruces police investigate shooting

New information on a Las Cruces shooting.
Officers responded to a shots fired call late Thursday at the George Washington Lounge at
3900 Montana. Officers arrived and found the victim (22-year old, Male) to have a
gunshot wound. Officer’s investigation revealed that the victim and others became
involved in a verbal altercation that escalated to the point that several rounds were
discharged. As a result the victim sustained a gunshot to the upper torso and was
transported to University Medical Center for treatment.

No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting,
but police officers told ABC-7 they do not believe the shooting was a random incident. No charges have been filed and this investigation continues.
