Special El Paso City Council meeting Monday to possibly pick firm to recruit new city manager

El Paso City Council will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18 to discuss hiring a firm to recruit a new city manager.

City Manager Joyce Wilson has turned in her resignation which takes effect Sept. 30, 2014. Wilson currently earns about $227,000 a year.

Presentations will be made by Affion Public, LLC; Strategic Government Resources (SGR), and The Waters Consulting Group, Inc. at City Council chambers at 300 N. Campbell in Downtown El Paso.

The agenda for the special meeting states that the public can attend the meeting but City officials say it is not a public hearing and public comment will not be allowed. It will be a City Council work session.

All discussions will be confined to the mayor, city council members, city staff, and presenters from the executive search firms.

Sign language interpreters will be provided for this meeting upon request. Requests must be made to this department a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

Copies of this Notice will be provided in Braille, large print or audio tape upon request. Requests must be made a minimum of 48 hours prior to the date and time of meeting.
