CW to air UTEP-ECU football game Saturday

The UTEP Miners begin conference play Saturday after wrapping up a grueling non-conference schedule that included three matches with teams from BCS conferences.

First up for the Miners is East Carolina University at 5 p.m. Saturday. The game will be broadcast on the El Paso-Las Cruces CW (Over the air on Channel 7.2; Time Warner Cable Channel 13; Comcast Cable Channel 14; DirecTV Channel 8; and Dish Channel 17).

The Miners are coming off a 37-26 loss to the Big 10’s Wisconsin Badgers in Madison Wisconsin. A week before that UTEP beat rival NMSU, 41-28, at the Sun Bowl Stadium. UTEP also gave the Big 12 powerhouse Oklahoma trouble before falling, 24-7 in the season and home opener. They went on to lose in Oxford, Miss., against the SEC’s Ole Miss, 28-10.

The Miners return home on Oct. 6, when they take on the SMU Mustangs.
