EPISD computer service technician arrested on child porn charge

Douglas “Doug” H. Rottier, a computer service technician with the El Paso Independent School District, was arrested at his home by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Tuesday for allegedly being in possession of child pornography/in transit.
El Paso County Jail records show he was still in custody as of noon Wednesday. He has been suspended without pay but is still employed with the district, according to district spokesman Vince Perez.
Rottier works at the district’s central office and did not work with students and there is no reason to believe he had any direct contact with students, Perez said.
The district’s police department worked with ICE on the case. It was not immediately know if any computers were seized at his home or at his office.
Rottier has worked with EPISD since Oct. 16, 2000.
