False alarm leads to search at propane dispensing facility in Socorro

Officers searched a propane tanker at a dispensing facility at noon Wednesday.
The facility is on the 11500 block of North Loop Drive in Socorro.
Officials said an anomaly was determined inside a propane tanker heading from Juarez to El Paso through the Ysleta Port of Entry.
As a result, officers decided to empty the tanker in search of illegal substances. The tanker was stopped at a propane dispensing business.
The tanker was inspected, but nothing illegal was located, according to officials.
Customs and Border Protection refilled the tanker with propane gas, and allowed it to leave, officials said.
