Two men killed in wrong-way crash
Two men are dead after a head-on collision on I-10, according to a spokesman with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Mariano Valle tells ABC-7 the crash happened shortly before 9 p.m. on I-10 East just after the Vinton exit.
According to Valle, the driver of a BMW SUV was driving west on the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a Toyota Sienna.
Valle tells ABC-7 the driver of the Sienna who was driving the right way, died at the scene. The driver heading the wrong way was still showing signs of life when deputies arrived. He was airlifted to a hospital in El Paso in critical condition, but didn’t make to the hospital alive.
The crash closed down I-10 East for several hours Monday night.
Toxicology results are pending.
