Thanksgiving Day closures, adjusted schedules

El Paso City Hall will be closed Thursday, November 22 for & Friday, November 23, 2012.

The offices will re-open Monday, November 26, 2012 at 7am.

El Paso Library Holiday Hours
All branches of the El Paso Public Library will open earlier and close earlier during Thanksgiving week. From Monday, November 19 through Wednesday, November 21, all branches will open from 9 AM to 5 PM. They will be closed on Thursday and Friday and will be open on Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM. They will observe normal hours once again on Monday, November 26. For more information call 543-5433.

Las Cruces City Hall and most other City of Las Cruces offices will be closed to the public on Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd for the Thanksgiving holiday. In addition, all Parks and Recreation facilities* will be closed through Sunday, November 25th. Emergency services such as fire and police will not be affected on either day.

Sun Metro Announces Customer Appreciation Day and Holiday Schedule
Sun Metro will recognize its passengers by hosting Customer Appreciation Day during Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22.

Sun Metro customers can ride any bus all day for free during the Thanksgiving holiday; including the curb-to-curb, demand-response service, the LIFT.

Customer Appreciation Day also will allow customers to participate in and support citywide celebrations such as the Mayor’s Thanksgiving Dinner.

“We want to express gratitude to our loyal passengers who have helped us become an award-winning system, and Thanksgiving Day is an ideal opportunity to get on board to experience the progress first hand,” said Sun Metro Director Jay Banasiak. “We also would like to invite new, first-time passengers to try out El Paso’s public transit system which is constantly looking at ways to improve.”

All bus routes will run on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Thursday, Nov. 22, in observation of Thanksgiving Day. Sun Metro’s customer service line will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sun Metro ticket offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22. The ticket offices are located at the Bert Williams Downtown Santa Fe Transfer Center, 601 Santa Fe, and the Eastside Transit Terminal, 1165 Sunmount.

All Sun Metro bus services and ticket offices will resume a regular schedule on Friday, Nov. 23.

Sun Metro’s administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23. The offices will resume a regular schedule on Monday, Nov. 26.

Collections, Landfill and Drop-off Sites to Observe Thanksgiving Day Holiday
The City of El Paso Environmental Services Department will not provide solid waste services on November 22 in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday.
Residents who regularly have their garbage and recyclables collected on Thursdays will have their waste collected on Saturday, November 24th. The collection routes for the rest of the rest of the community will remain on a regular schedule. No other collection days will be affected by the holiday.
The Greater El Paso Landfill will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and will resume regular business hours on Friday, November 23rd.
The Citizen Collection Stations, also known as drop-off sites, will be closed on November 22nd and 23rd, in observance of the holiday. The Citizen Collection Stations will resume regular operating hours on Saturday, November 24th.

El Paso Electric Offices Closed for Thanksgiving
El Paso Electric business offices in Texas and New Mexico will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, Nov. 26.

SISD campuses, offices closed November 19-23
Schools and offices in the Socorro Independent School District will be closed Nov. 19-23 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. There will be no classes for SISD students. Students will return to class on Monday, Nov. 26.

El Paso Parks and Recreation Holiday Schedule
Thanksgiving Schedule
All Senior Centers, City – operated Daycare Centers, and the Administrative Office for the Parks and Recreation Department at City Hall will be closed on November 22nd (Thanksgiving Day) and Friday, November 23rd, 2012.
Additional Information:
Sports Centers will be closed on Thanksgiving Day (November 22nd), open on Friday, November 23rd, and closed on Saturday, November 24th and Sunday, November 25th.
Holiday Schedule for Recreation Centers only:
All Recreation Centers will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012.
Carolina, Don Haskins, Gary Del Palacio, Multipurpose, and Pat O’Rourke Recreation Centers will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 23rd.
Nolan Richardson and San Juan Recreation Centers will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 23rd. All other Centers will be closed.
All Recreation Centers will have normal hours of operation on Saturday, November 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. except for Chihuahuita, Rae Gilmore, and Seville Recreation Centers which are closed on Saturdays.
All Recreation Centers are closed on Sundays.

San Elizario ISD closed Nov. 19-23
All schools and administrative offices in the San Elizario Independent School District will be closed November 19-23, 2012 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Students will return to classes on Monday, November 26, 2012.

Unemployment Insurance Call Center Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday
Automated Toll-Free Phone Options and Website Available
The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions’ Unemployment Insurance call center will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday from Thursday, November 22 to Sunday, November 25, 2012. The department urges claimants to plan accordingly.

The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions would like to remind Unemployment Insurance claimants of the announced changes to the weekly certification option on the 1-877-NM-4-MYUI (1-877-664-6984) toll-free number effective Sunday, November 25, 2012. As part of the implementation phase of the new Unemployment Insurance (UI) system, the option to certify via 1-877-664-6984 will only be available Monday through Saturday. There will not be an option to certify for weekly benefits on Sundays via 1-877-664-6984; however, individuals can also certify seven days a week via the web at www.dws.state.nm.us on Sundays from 3 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Mondays through Saturdays from 3 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The department would also like to remind all eligible Unemployment Insurance claimants that Thursday, November 22 is a federal holiday. Banking institutions and the U.S. Postal Service will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving. This will result in accounts being funded when financial institutions reopen on Friday and will affect Unemployment Insurance debit card holders and direct deposit participants. This will also result in a delay of mail delivery for a small portion of Unemployment Insurance claimants who receive checks.
Thursday and Friday are also state holidays, and all New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions offices will be closed.

Health Department Thanksgiving Holiday Hours of Operation
The City of El Paso Department of Public Health would like to inform the public of changes to our hours of operation this week in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. All sites, including WIC Centers will be closed on both Thursday, November 22nd, and Friday, November 23rd, 2012. The 2-1-1 Call Center will remain operating 24/7. HACEP Offices to be Closed for Thanksgiving
In observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday, the Housing Authority of the City of El Paso, Texas will be closed Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23, 2012. HACEP will resume regular business hours beginning Monday, November 26 at 8:00 a.m.
Standby maintenance crews will be on call 24 hours if an emergency should arise. Public housing residents may call the emergency work order line at 849-3743 for emergencies only. To report routine work orders, residents may call 849-3744 and work will commence during regular business hours.

El Paso Zoo Closed on Thanksgiving Day
As a reminder, the El Paso Zoo will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. The El Paso Zoo will resume regular zoo hours on Friday, November 23 from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Ticket gate closes at 4 p.m.
The Zoo is open year-round and only closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Lincoln National Forest Offices Closed in Observance of Thanksgiving Holiday
November 20, 2012- In observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday, Lincoln National Forest offices will be closed on Thursday, November 22, 2012. Regular business hours will resume on Friday morning.
