Chihuahuas crush Albuquerque, 11-0

Three El Paso pitchers combined for the team’s second shutout of the season Sunday, as the Chihuahuas beat the Albuquerque Isotopes 11-0. Juan Oramas pitched 6.1 shutout innings on his 24 th birthday, scattering just two hits. Dennis O’Grady and Hector Ambriz each threw scoreless outings to complete the shutout.

The Chihuahuas scored in five different innings, pounding 14 hits in the rout, including three each by Alex Castellanos and Brooks Conrad. Conrad hit two home runs in a game for the second time this season. Rico Noel and Tyler Greene hit their first El Paso home runs in the win. The Chihuahuas launched four home runs Sunday and have hit seven home runs in the first two games of the series against the Isotopes.

Sunday’s 11-run win was the biggest margin of victory the Chihuahuas have had this year. El Paso turned five double plays Sunday, two shy of tying the Pacific Coast League record for double plays in a game.
