First Alert: Chances of rain begin Friday evening, last through Saturday

The StormTRACK Weather team has issued a First Alert due to rain chances developing Friday afternoon across the region, and lasting through Saturday evening.

A Pacific storm system will drag moisture into the region through Friday, and cross the area Saturday. The result will be upper level and lower level moisture combining to develop steady rain chances through Saturday evening.

In El Paso, the chance of rain begins at 10% in the mid afternoon hours Friday. The chance strengthens to 20% Friday evening, lasts through the night, and bumps to 30% through Saturday afternoon. Chances for rain drop Saturday evening to 10%.

The First Alert was called due to various outdoor events taking place over the holiday weekend that may be affected by the rain. Winds are also expected to pick up. Windy with gusts to 30 mph in the forecast Friday afternoon and breezy Saturday with gusts to 25 mph.
