May 25, 2014 Story: Soldier killed after motorcycle crashes
A soldier was killed Sunday morning after his motorcycle crashed near the intersection of 375 North and Spur 601 East.
The name of the Fort Bliss soldier, assigned to the 1st Armored Division, will not be released until his family is notified by military officials.
Medical personnel declared the soldier dead at the scene.
El Paso Police said the soldier lost control of the motorcycle and ended up on the freeway. A driver hit and killed him. Police said they do not know if alcohol played a role in the crash, though they do believe the soldier was speeding.
