Chihuahuas Win Sunday; Split Reno Series

The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Reno Aces 10-7 Sunday afternoon in a game that included seven lead changes. The Chihuahuas split the four-game series, ending the Aces’ stretch of six consecutive series wins.

The game was tied in the top of the eighth before Brooks Conrad and Cody Decker both hit two-run home runs to put El Paso ahead by four. Reno scored once in the eighth to get within three but Blaine Boyer got three groundouts in the ninth to retire the Aces in order.

Rico Noel, Jonathan Galvez, Conrad, Alex Castellanos and Decker each had two hits for the Chihuahuas. Galvez has three consecutive multi-hit games. Jeff Francoeur went 1-for-5 with a double, ending his streak of three consecutive games with a home run. With the Las Vegas 51s win over Fresno, the Chihuahuas remain in second place, 5.5 games out of first.
