El Paso Fire Dept. investigating West Side brush fire

Investigators with the El Paso Fire Department are looking for the cause of a Tuesday afternoon brush fire.

The fire broke out near Virginia and Ochoa in West El Paso and became a Condition 4 fire due to the number of firefighters on scene.

The fire was spreading west due to wind conditions that were accelerating the fire. Units were able to access the area and contain the fire to the area damaged – about a quarter acre of vegetation in the area.

19 units and 43 firefighters responded to the incident.

No injuries were reported.
