El Paso Police charge man with murder in April stabbing
A man stabbed on April 2, 2014 has died from his injuries.
The victim, 46-year-old Arturo Villareal, was in an alley in 5018 Alameda with another person when he was approached by 50-year-old Paul Lomeli Jimenez who began to argue with the victim.
El Paso Police say that as the argument continued, a physical altercation ensued.
During the altercation Jimenez allegedly stabbed Villareal twice in the abdomen.
Villareal was transported to University Medical Center for treatment of what were reported to be non-life threatening injuries.
As Villareal was being treated at the hospital he succumbed to his injuries and died on May 3, 2014.
Crimes Against Person’s detectives identified Jimenez as the person who stabbed Villareal and obtained a warrant for murder.
Jimenez was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on the charge of Murder on May 6, 2014. His bond was set a $1 million. This case becomes the sixth homicide of 2014 compared to four at this time in 2013.
