El Paso Inc.: REIT sells Bassett Tower

One of Downtown El Paso’s most iconic and historic buildings has been sold, and its new owners say they want to restore the tired building to its former glory.

Borderplex Community Trust, a quiet real estate investment trust formed by powerful real estate developer Bill Sanders, sold the O.T. Bassett Tower last week to an investor group led by young El Paso entrepreneur Lane Gaddy.

The purchase price for the Art Deco building at 303 Texas was not disclosed.
