TRAFFIC ALERT: I-10 in west central El Paso closed for construction

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) have closed I-10 eastbound between Sunland Park and Porfirio Diaz. I-10 westbound is also closed between Porfirio Diaz and Schuster.

The closures are inplace from noon Sunday, Aug. 24 and remain closed through 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25.

Here are some detours that have been put in place to avoid the construction:

Westbound Traffic: Exit at the Porfirio Diaz Exit Ramp and re-enter at the Schuster Entrance Ramp to I-10 Eastbound Traffic: Exit at the Sunland Park Exit Ramp and continue along Paisano Dr.(US 85) onto the US 54 Ramp to re-enter I-10 eastbound.

Construction crews will be removing parts of the Yandell Bridge and pouring concrete on the new Spur 1966 bridge deck, located over I-10.
