City’s Environmental Services Dept. announces high school video contest winners

The City of El Paso Environmental Services Department (ESD) has announced the winners of the 2014 public service announcement video contest for high school students.

First Place: Ryan Allan and Andres Valenciana, Austin High School
Second Place: Aaron Gomez and Diego Lopez, Del Valle High School
Third Place: Valeria Perez and Jesse Garcia, Del Valle High School

Students were asked to create a 30 second video PSA based on the theme “ESD Works for Me.”

The contest focused on the array of services provided by ESD, such as curbside recycling, citizen collection stations, and animal adoptions.

The winning videos may be seen on the city’s YouTube Channel –https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIHdKOaNg34&list=UUwYdX-cXdg609Ppl8Bjq07g

All the winners will be presented with an award during a regular El Paso City Council Meeting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1.

The winning PSAs will be televised on City 15 and on the City’s recycling website www.recycleelpaso.org for up to one year.
