National Weather Service issues flash flood watch

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued the flash flood watch early Friday morning.

Areas under the threat for flooding include:

New Mexico

Dona Ana County
Otero County Mesilla valley
Portions of the bootheel
Upper Gila river valley

Texas

El Paso County Hudspeth County Hueco Mountains Portions of the Rio Grande valley

The NWS says that a very moist tropical air mass that is over the areais expected to stick around through Sunday.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected develop with heavy rainfall potential.

The runoff from heavy rainfall could produce flash flooding in areas that usually tend to see it.
