There have been other cases of hospital-transmitted tuberculosis in the U.S. in recent years.

Just last fall in Las Vegas, nearly 1,000 patients at Summerlin Hospital Medical Center were tested after an outbreak in their neo-natal unit.

Fifty-nine tested positive for TB with two of those testing positive for active TB.

Summerlin hospital had two more babies test positive for TB this month related to last year’s outbreak.

In Sacramento and neighboring Solano County, California in 2012 there were 25 babies found to be exposed to TB in two hospitals.
