El Paso’s time-of-day watering schedule resumes on Monday

El Paso’s time-of-day watering schedule resumes Monday and lasts until Sept. 30.

During this time period El Pasoans are only allowed to water their lawns before 10am or after 6pm and only on their designated days.

Watering guidelines:

No residential watering- Mondays.
Even-numbered addresses- Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays.
Odd-numbered addresses- Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays.
Anai Padilla, El Paso Water Utilities water conservation manager, said watering in the morning or the evening minimizes evaporation.

The watering schedule is included in the city’s water conservation ordinance which has been in effect since 1991; violations of that ordinance constitute a misdemeanor and can carry fines of up to $500.
