McDonald’s Hispanos Triunfadores recognizes the success and service of 6 local individuals

The 14th annual McDonald’s Hispanos Triunfadores program will honor six individuals who excel in their fields of work and who dedicate a great deal of their time and energy toward community service.

The awards ceremony will be held Thursday, Sept. 19.

The Hispanos Triunfadores are individuals who were nominated by people in the community in one of six categories: Arts & Entertainment, Business, Community Service, Education, Government Service and Science.

In addition to being successful professionals and excellent examples of community service, honorees must also serve as role models to the youth.

The committee also selected an individual to receive the Hispanos Triunfadores Lifetime Achievement Award: Dr. James Vasquez, Executive Director of Education Service Center – Region 19.

The 2013 Hispanos Triunfadores Honorees are:

Janet Aguilar – Business

Dr. Renato J. Aguilera – Science

JoAnne Bernal – Government Service

Estela Casas – Arts & Entertainment

Joe Gomez – Community Service

Dr. Carmen Olivas-Graham – Education
