Man drives SUV through 2 West El Paso businesses

A customer of car title and registration business walked away with just minor scratches after an SUV plowed through the front of the building.

The crash happened during lunchtime line at Express Car Titling off Redd Road in West El Paso.

The driver of a white Ford Explorer told ABC-7 his foot got stuck and he could not stop.

A beauty shop next door, Sally’s Beauty Supply Store, was also damaged in the crash.

The owner of the title business said he’s very fortunate his office was mostly empty. Two of his employees were out to lunch and only two customers were trying to renew registration. One of those customers suffered minor scratches on a leg, but refused to go to the hospital.

The owner said he’s worried about when he’ll be able to reopen.

“I don’t know. the contractor’s there. He’s looking at it and we’re trying to see if it’s going to be a couple of weeks before we can reopen,” said Sergio Sanchez, owner Express Car Titling.

The couple inside the explorer was not hurt. Police did not cite the driver.
