Early morning stabbing in downtown El Paso

One person was rushed to the hospital after a stabbing early Friday morning in downtown El Paso.

Police were called out at about 2 a.m. and several streets in the area were closed off. Streets were open about three hours after the incident.

The stabbing happened near the 500 block of Stanton Street, where four bars and nightclubs are located.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.

The El Paso Police Department has not released any other information.
