Las Cruces mother claims her 11-year old daughter is being bullied

Las Cruces, NM- A Las Cruces woman claims her daughter is being bullied by a fellow classmate and her mother. Jennifer Galvan says her 11 year old daughter is an honor student who usually enjoys school but now, her feelings have changed.

Galvan tells our New Mexico Mobile Newsroom “My daughter is scared she doesn’t want to go to school and she shouldn’t feel like that, I feel like I am running in a loose end”.

Her daughter is in the 6th grade at Lynn middle school and has feared for her safety since the beginning of the semester.

She says her daughter is being bullied by a student and the student’s mother, who serves food in the cafeteria. She has gone to the school six times, then the district, and finally the police.

“When I met with them after the restraining order Jo Galvan said she was not going to honor that because every child is entitled to a public education”

District spokeswoman Jo Galvan is not related to Jennifer Galvan stated “LCPS has bent over backward trying to appease this parent. As of today , there has been no proof of her various allegations.

Last week the school imposed several provisions so that the two girls do not share any classes and do not eat in the same area at lunchtime.

Plus, a specific path for the other girl to take at one point in the day was imposed so that the students don’t pass each other in the hallway. “

Jennifer Galvan says she fears for her daughter’s safety.” The little girl has threatened to slash my daughters throat she’s being stalked she needs to watch her back they’re going to get her”

The spokeswoman says the Principal and Superintendent’s office met with both girls and their mothers.

“It was made very clear that the girls and parents must stay away from one another. If any substantiated infraction takes place at school, immediate intervention and/or discipline will take place.”
