MountainStar Sports officially announces campaign for Major League Soccer in El Paso
MountainStar Sports group, owner of the Triple-A baseball team the El Paso Chihuahuas is making a play at bringing Major League Soccer to the Borderland as well. Thursday’s announcement officially launches a set of initiatives to show the level of public support for an MLS team in our region.
According to a statement released by MountainStar, it has gone live with initiatives aimed at fostering grassroots support to bring MLS to the Borderplex region. An official website and Facebook page have been developed and members of the public are encouraged to become a part of the campaign.
The website, www.bringitmls.com, offers background information on why El Paso, Juarez, and the Borderplex make an ideal location for MLS, and it gives viewers the opportunity to connect to the official Facebook page. Supporters will be able to subscribe to news and there is an additional feature allowing fans to indicate what kind of interest they might have in purchasing season tickets. MountainStar Sports Group formally endorses the use of #BRINGITMLS.
As reported in June, MountainStar Sports Group had already met several times with MLS regarding the possibility of adding the El Paso region as an expansion market for the League.
