Duke University arrives in El Paso, team brings 300+ people

The Duke University football team landed at the El Paso International Airport around 5 p.m. Monday night. The team traveled on a chartered 747, bringing just under 120 players plus nearly 200 more staff, friends and family.

The Hyundai Sun Bowl Association gave Duke a southwest welcome, complete with mariachis, folklorico dancers and a dance floor to try out their own moves.

Mayor Oscar Leeser and Hyundai Sun Bowl Association sponsor, also personally welcomed the players.

Duke faces ASU Saturday, Dec. 27 at high noon.
