El Paso residents claim their cash

El Paso, TX-$52 million is waiting to be claimed and the state is looking for the owners of unclaimed property and money. That’s why representatives with the Texas comptroller’s office are in El Paso.

Residents lined up for the first meeting in east El Paso this afternoon with hopes of finding their name on the list. Outreach specialist were available to help El Pasoans search unclaimed property.

ABC-7 spoke with Martha Marquez and her daughter Alex, they attended today’s meeting and are happy with the end result. “We were surprised we just saw our name on the list we came and we are getting money back”.

You still have two more chances to speak with the experts in person and learn how to get your money. The next is tomorrow at the County Courthouse and then there’s another at the County Annex office in Vinton on Thursday.
