Former NFL QB John Skelton signs with Canadian Football League team
Former Arizona Cardinal quarterback John Skelton is headed to the Canadian Football League.
Skelton signed a two-year deal with the Montreal Alouettes, the team announced on Friday. The Alouettes also announced that the club has released international quarterback Alex Brink.
Skelton, 26, played high school at Burges in El Paso before playing four years at Fordham University where he racked up 9,923 passing yards while throwing 69 touchdowns passes in 43 games.
Skelton was selected in the fifth round (155th overall) by the Cardinals in the 2010 NFL Draft.

In three seasons in Arizona, he played 20 games, amassing 3,707 passing yards and throwing 15 touchdown passes.
In 2011, he replaced an injured Kevin Kolb, leading the team to a 5-2 record as the starter.
Before joining the Alouettes, Skelton also suited up for the Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans.
