Police: Man arrested following Village Inn robbery
A man police said robbed a restaurant Saturday evening was arrested.
The robbery happened at the Village Inn on the 7800 block of North Mesa, officials said.
Police received a call regarding an aggravated robbery incident around 6:18 p.m.
According to police, 58-year-old Kosta Argeanas entered the restaurant and demanded money from a female employee near the register.
Police said the woman believed Argeanas might have had a gun, because he was motioning to his waist as if he did.
Argeanas was handed money, and then reached over the register to grab more, officials said.
According to police, a manager then attempted to stop the robbery.
At that point, police said the man fled the Village Inn in a blue Voltswagen with New Mexico plates.
Officers reviewed surveillance video, and recognized Argeanas.
Police said they then arrested Argeanas at his home as he pulled up in his vehicle.
Police located a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol inside the vehicle, officials said.
Argeanas was booked on a charge of aggravated robbery. His bond is $50,000.
