Temps remain in the 80s, isolated rain chances
Dry air continues to hang over the region at the upper level, with some moisture still trapped near the surface.
This means isolated rain chances stick around in the forecast, but showers are not likely for El Paso and Las Cruces.
The better chance of rain will be over the higher elevations of the Sacramento mountains and the Gila region. There, rain chances range from 20 to 40 percent.
Rain chances sit only between 10 and 20 percent around the lower elevations. The best chance of rain is over Hudspeth, Grant, and Otero counties.
El Paso and Las Cruces are under a 10 percent chance of a scattered rain shower.
The drier air and high pressure aloft will hold tight to the region, and lead to low to scattered rain chances through the evening and Saturday.
Then more moisture will move in, thanks to a low pressure system from the northwest. This will increase rain chances and the potential for stronger storms Sunday into Monday.
Forecast high of 83 Friday in El Paso, and 82 degrees in Las Cruces.
