El Paso Police release ID of motorcyclist killed on Lee Trevino Friday
A 23-year-old motorcyclist was killed just after noon in East El Paso Friday.
El Paso Police say that Aaron Velasquez was driving his motorcycle north in the 1200 block of N. Lee Trevino when the single vehicle crash occurred at 12:07 p.m.
Velasquez was sent to Del Sol Medical Center with life-threatening injuries where he later died.
Police say that Velasquez was driving northbound at a high rate of speed when he attempted to avoid striking a vehicle.
The motorcycle struck a curb and Velasquez was thrown from the motorcycle and struck a pole.
This is the 11 th traffic related death of 2015 compared to nine at this time in 2014.
