Police Capture Wanted Sex Offender in Central El Paso

Police officers arrested a wanted sex offender in Central El Paso, according to a spokeswoman with the county sheriff’s office.

Terry Wayne Amos, 48, was convicted of raping a 13-year-old girl and was staying at the El Paso Transitional Living Center, a halfway house near Horizon City.

Earlier this week, Amos was given permission to go to a Dollar General Store. Sheriff’s deputies say he never returned.

Amos was captured by police on the 3800 block of Harrison thanks a tip, according the sheriff’s office.

He will now be charged for allegedly failing to register as a sex offender.
