NMSU Football: Morgan Named to Preseason All Conference Team
NEW ORLEANS – NM State wide receiver Teldrick Morgan has earned preseason All-SunBelt Second Team Offense honors, the league office announcedMonday.
Morgan was recently placed on both the Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch list and the Paul Hornung Award Preseason Watch List.
Morgan had 75 receptions for 903 yards to average 12.0 yards per catch and 82.1 receiving yards per game in 2014. He had a career-long 57-yard reception at UTEP on Sept.13 on his way to a personal-best 202 receiving yards. Overall, the Hanover, Md. native amassed four games of at least 100 receiving yards, eight games with 50 or more receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
Additionally, Morgan had 16 kick returns for 369 yards. He racked up five kick returns for 120 yards against Georgia Southern on Oct. 4 and another five kick returns for 139 yards, which included a personal-best return of 42 yards, at Troy on Oct. 11. Morgan also collected 73 yards on five punt returns with a career-high 56-yard return against Louisiana-Lafayette on Nov. 8.
The redshirt junior amassed 1,361 all-purpose yards to average 123.7 per game for the season. Morgan also had a career-high 220 all-purpose yards against Georgia Southern, 217 all-purpose yards at UTEP and 213 all-purpose yards at Troy.
