EPCSO hosting safety fair for children

Sheriff Richard Wiles and the El Paso Sheriff’s County Office are hosting the Sheriff’s Safety Town this week.

The four-day session is aimed at educating children ages 4 to 7 about safety awareness on subjects like gun safety, pedestrian safety, and stranger danger.

Instruction will be provided by a sheriff deputy and fire officers, and assisted by teenage volunteers.

Leslie Antunez, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, said it is important for children in the community to learn these fundamental skills to take care of themselves and keep themselves safe.

Sheriff’s Safety Town will be held in the parking lot of the Sheriff’s Office Headquarter building, located 3850 Justice Dr from 8 a.m. till noon from July 20-23.

To register your child, contact Deputy Adrian Gonzalez at 915-342-2409. Registration per child is $10, and includes snacks and refreshments.

There is a maximum of 30 children per session.
