Teammates use #aj29 to praise, appreciate, and have fun with UTEP’s Aaron Jones

There’s no doubt Aaron Jones is one of UTEP’s best football players.

And to show their appreciation for the junior running back his teammates are using #aj29 and saying things they heard about Jones.

LaQuintus(LA)Dowell tweeted, “Aaron Jones so cold he made the dos x man drink Corona #AJ29”

But why should they have all the fun? Join in by using #aj29.

Jones was named to the preseason All-Conference USA first team.

Jones is one of four running backs selected to the preseason squad. The native of El Paso left his mark in the school record books last season becoming the first underclassmen to lead the team in rushing in back-to-back seasons since John Harvey (1985-86). The tailback garnered 2014 All-Conference USA second team honors after starting 12 games for the Miners. Jones grinded out 1,321 yards, which marks the fourth best single-season total in program history. He also led the squad in rushing touchdowns (11) and receiving scores (three).
