of what a neighbor… … says led up to that swat standoff in far northeast el paso tuesday night. we spoke with the man police say 53-year- old daniel sandoval threatened before allegedly getting past police surrounding his house! abc-seven’s bob harp is live with the new information… estela… abc-seven also just confirming daniel sandoval is a convicted sex offender. that happened back in california and his record is updated with yesterday’s mug and mesquite bush address. tonight, the man who says sandoval threatened him, and that’s what started the whole ordeal; “he was under the influence o something and you know he came up to me and he was just pissed off at something i don’t know and he just came up to me with a knife and threatened me with a knife.” that is sandoval’s neighbor, victor flores. today, he walked us through the debris, still there after tuesday night’s standoff then police chase. police and witnesses say sandoval barricaded himself inside his home for hours, the drove his truck through his garage door… through the rock wall… and reportedly almost hitting a few police officers… then slamming into two police cars. flores says it all started when he went outside to throw away the trash… and sandoval sandoval confronted him with a kitchen knife flores says sandoval was high and drunk and was upset because another neighbor cut him off while on the road! “you know it’s not the firs time, it’s like a couple of times, the last time you know he threatened to kill his mom, and you know he’s just a trouble maker, you know what i’m saying that’s it, you know we don’t need people like that here.” after allegedly driving his truck through the garage and rock wall, daniel sandoval made it through all the police surrounding his house but his truck died out not far down dyer. he is charged with two counts of aggravated assault. it’s a story people are talking about tonight, especially out in mesquite hills. thanks for the latest. new information tonight in the joel
