EPISD Online Registration Issues

your kids registered for school. hoping to ease long lines, last year the e-p-i-s-d began partial online registration. the report card so far: incomplete. abc-7’s iris lopez joins us live with why, iris? the new system is getting mixed reviews from students and parents. “um, it’s confusing…. incoming coronado sophmore, lauren holderman, isn’t a fan of having to type the same information in numerous times, even so, she thinks it’s pretty simple. the district hopes to cut the time parents and students spend at school by letting you fill out registration forms on line, and print them at home. we talked to parents who encountered problems like pages not saving data, and finding their children’s names and even schools weren’t in the system. others say no one at their school could help them. a spokesman today told me the episd “parent services department” is working one on one with families to resolve problems. they also urged parents to use chrome or firefox instead of internet explorer. through it all, i did find people happy not to spend hours in line at school. “it’s much better, i don’t have all these forms to carry i just have my confirmation number or confirmation sheet and my utility bill and my id and my daughters id. it should be very simple.” episd wants parents to know that they are trying to deal with the issues, and they hope parents understand that the new process will ultimately make registration much quicker. if you’re planning on taking advantage of the tax-free weekend in
