Dona Ana Community College’s nursing program regains baccreditation after 3 years

Dona Ana Community College’s nursing program has regained its accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. Many hospitals require their nurses to graduate from an accredited four-year program before they can get a job.

The nursing program lost its accreditation through the National League for Nursing in 2012.

After being retooled, school officials say the program now meets standards of New Mexico’s board of nursing and accrediting commission of nursing standards.

And good news for those that graduated from the program this past May – the accreditation means those students graduated from an accredited program.
