Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for deaths pregnant woman, unborn baby
A Jury has sentenced the man convicted on two felony counts of murder for the deaths of a pregnant woman and her unborn child to life in prison.
El Paso Police say Ruben Cazares, of Socorro, Texas, ran over 18-year-old AlmaReaux , of the 200 block of California, on November 19, 2013.
Friday, Cazares was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine on both counts.
The incident, which happened in broad daylight, was initially reported as a hit-and-run at 200 W. California in Sunset Heights.
Police said the investigation revealed Cazares was behind the wheel of the SUV that struck Reux.
Police said that Cazares and Reux got into an argument during a drug deal before he ran her over.
