2015 Amigo Airsho postponed

Amigo Airsho officials announced Monday that the show has been postponed.

“We hope that Airsho fans will support us as we further strengthen the attractiveness of this long-standing aviation tradition,” said Amigo Airsho board president Eric Gensheimer. “We have a strong relationship with the team at the Dona Ana County International Jetport and our goal would be to bring the event back for many years to come.”

This year’s event had been scheduled for Oct. 24-25.

Airsho officials did not give a reason for the postponement.

The Amigo Airsho was held for the first time at the Dona Ana jetport on Nov. 1-2, 2014. It had been held several decades at Biggs Army Airfield on Fort Bliss prior to that.

“When we brought the event to Santa Teresa, it was done in a cut-and-paste manner,” Gensheimer said. “It wasn’t as easy as picking it up at Fort Bliss and dropping it down at the jetport. Thanks to the commitment from Dona Ana County officials, federal, state, and local agency partners, many loyal volunteers, vendors, and sponsors, we were able to present a quality show.”
