El Paso Fight Club caters to all interested in boxing

It isn’t difficult to find a boxing gym throughout the Borderland. But there is one unique club in West El Paso that we bet you haven’t heard of. It is called the El Paso Fight Club.

The club is run by retired professional boxer Herman Delgado and he has been doing so for the past two decades.

“I just said lets try this people will like it,” Delgado said. “It’s been going and we’ve been doing it for years so something is working.”

Delgado said he uses what he has learned through boxing during his professional career to help those who are interested in boxing. Delgado doesn’t train fighters anymore, as he is more interested in hosting a good workout for everyone who attends.

“Here everybody is relaxed, there is no contract and you just come out here and workout and that is all there is to it,” Delgado said. “It is simple boxing at its best.”

Anyone is welcome to join the club every Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. The club is located at 841 Dulcinea Ct. and includes 10 different punching bags plus an actual boxing ring.

“It is a lot more relaxed here,” Delgado said. “The atmosphere, there is no hassle and nobody is going to give you a hard time., except me! We are just here to have fun.”
