why some viewers aren’t satisfied. i always loved paul harvey … and his classic line … now you know the rest of the story. but in t-v news … we don’t want to make you wait for the rest of the story. from chita … “i have a bi complaint!! sorry lol. you start at 4 and tell me to stay tuned for the rest of the story at 4:30. “then you give another ‘bait’ and tell me to tune in at 5 to hear the rest of the story … . “i finally get the whol story ‘complete’ at 10!! “i lov you guys, i love channel 7 but i am tired of ‘little pieces of news.'” chita … i disagree that it happens all the time … but even once is one time too many. each story … no matter the newscast … should be complete and stand on it’s own. and that is something that is shared with our reporters on a daily basis. just keep in mind … our reporters have it tough … in some cases they have to report for our 4, 5, 6 & 10pm newscasts. and with that in mind … we do like to differentiate our stories from newscast to newscast … by adding new elements and in some cases they get new information or new interviews between newscasts. so again … you’ll definitely hear us push a new element or a new angle for a later newscast … but what you get earlier in the day should be a complete story and if it’s not we definitely should be called out for it. your email did provide us with another opportunity to remind our staff of the need to think in complete stories … because with all due respect to paul harvey … may he rest in peace … you should never have to wait for the “rest of the story.” rick cabrera abc-7 listens. and later today join us after our
