High School FB: Two A Days – Del Valle
two a days… our fourth story takes place at del valle high school… in 2014, del valle had it’s best season in school history… led by quarterback steven montez, the conquistadores reached the regional semi finals and set a school record for wins … now they’re confident they can take the next step… lopez: we belong here. we belong in an area championship. we belong in a regional championship in every sport and i think we’re going to prove that this year. stand up: del valle will be without quarterback steven montez this year as he’s moved on to colorado but because of that great defense, expectations remain as high as ever. lopez: “no one’s going to score points on us.” aguirre: ” think we’re the best defense in the city. hopefully we’ll be the best defense in the state. we have a lot of returners, including myself, i’ve been on varsity since my sophomore year and i know what this team is about and i know we can bring it.” th players enter the season with a chip on their shoulder… they want to prove this was not a one man team… aguirre: i think everyone is doubting us because of the loss of steven, and i think we’re here to show that we can be a great team even without him. perales: “we have a lot of great skill players with experience and they’re hungry and it showed in the summer and the spring. they worked really hard. they got a taste of that area championship and they want more and we believe that we can win it all. it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. it matters what we think.” del valle is still a very dangerous team… if they have stability on offense, they will again make noise in the state playoffs… del valle opens its season at gadsden… you can find all of our two-a-days stories on kvia dot com… tomorrow, we’ll visit with las cruces high school… utep is back… the miners held their first
